HISTORY

The initial launch of this successful financial education initiative was held in Chicago in October 2001.

Since then, the initiative has grown to serve Illinoisans all around the state.  Over eleven years, we have been to Carbondale, Champaign, Decatur, East St. Louis, Moline, Peoria, Rockford, Springfield, Chicago and the collar counties – in all, over 50 visits around the state.

The opportunity that this initiative has provided has served local audiences, as well as a myriad of ethnic communities.  Our attendance has totaled over 15,000, proving that as a state we are eager to gain valuable financial information. Over 240 renowned national speakers and local experts have addressed topics ranging from basic budgeting, eliminating debt, improving one's credit score and teaching children about money.

We are entering a new and exciting era of this initiative. Together, we are creating history, and the State Treasurer invites you to help write the next chapters!

Keep a look out for this unique and valuable opportunity in your area and register today!
