Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias’ office is selling more than $125,000 worth of diamonds, pearls, gems, jewels and currency during its three week-long Silver and Gold holiday eBay auctions. The auctions run noon to noon, Sunday to Sunday, Nov. 23 to Dec. 14. You can preview select items below. Additional pictures and full descriptions will be available beginning Nov. 23 at our eBay site.

All of the items in the Silver and Gold auctions come from safe deposit boxes that have been abandoned for at least 10 years. The proceeds of the auctions will be held indefinitely for the items’ owners or heirs.
