File a Freedom of Information Request
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 ILCS 140, is the exclusive State statute on freedom of information. You may read the Freedom of Information Act. We charge 35 cents per page for copies, as allowed by the Illinois administrative code.

Popular FOIA Requests
Popular FOIA requests to the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office include contracts and unclaimed property details. You can find current information regarding contracts, professional service agreements, requests for proposals and invitations for bids under the Procurement Opportunities section of the website.

Public information regarding unclaimed property claims is available on our I-Cash database; however, total property values are withheld until a claim form is received. Additional information is available to governmental agencies acting to return the property or third parties who receive written permission from a claimant.
